More than two decades of experience. One purpose behind it all.
My experience spans more than two decades across hospitality, corporate operations, marketing, and business ownership. I've worked with customers, supported leadership teams, collaborated with entrepreneurs, and managed businesses of my own.
Those perspectives shaped Business Built Within LLC. I understand how the people, processes, and responsibilities inside a business connect—and why dependable support matters to the owners and leaders carrying it forward.

The Foundation
From South Africa to hospitality and early leadership
A New Country, a New Beginning
In 2005, at 18, I traveled from South Africa to the United States on a work visa for what I thought would be a gap year. Leaving my family was daunting, but I was eager to work, gain independence, and make the most of the opportunity. That experience became the beginning of a much longer professional journey.

Learning the Business of Service
My hospitality career began at Windsor Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida, and continued at Anchorage by the Sea in Ogunquit, Maine. I later worked as an Event Coordinator at The Gasparilla Inn in Boca Grande, Florida. These roles gave me practical experience in guest relations, event coordination, and the work required to deliver excellent service.

Growing Into Leadership
Back in Vero Beach, I continued in hospitality at Ay Jalisco and expanded into youth development as an Art Director at the Boys & Girls Club and a Gymnastics Coach at Christi's Fitness. I also pursued Certified Nursing Assistant training. Different industries, but a common foundation: communicating well, supporting people, and taking responsibility.

Behind the Business
From hospitality into corporate operations
An Unexpected Opportunity
After relocating to Jensen Beach, Florida, for a hospitality opportunity at Maya's Grill in Palm City, I was recruited by Treatment Management Company, marking the beginning of my transition into behavioral healthcare and corporate Sales and Marketing.
A Broader View of Operations
I progressed into Human Resources and executive administrative support, including work with the Clinical Director at Treasure Coast Recovery. Over approximately three years, I gained experience in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and cross-department operations.

The Marketer & Entrepreneur
Building brands. Creating connections. Creating opportunities.
Building a Voice in Business
In 2017, I began investing in my knowledge of digital marketing and sales. I went on to develop brands and initiatives including MRM Marketing Agency, Marsie Talks Live, and We Build Leaders. Through interviews, entrepreneurial collaborations, networking events, and masterminds, I expanded my experience in marketing, content, relationship-building, and business visibility.

With guidance from my mentor, David Bryant, I created Marsie Talks Live to interview entrepreneurs and share their experiences, ideas, and insights with others building businesses of their own.
The platform led to an opportunity to conduct interviews and create content at the MyEcon network marketing conference in Orlando, Florida, expanding my experience in media production, communication, and professional networking.
I launched and operated multiple businesses, including Gideon’s Arcade, a vending machine business, followed by Synergy Lounge & Bar, which opened in August 2021. Alongside other ventures and retail management experience, these businesses gave me firsthand responsibility for operations, marketing, customer experience, coordination, and the day-to-day decisions involved in ownership.

A Perspective Built Through Experience
My career has taken me from customer-facing roles to corporate departments, executive support, marketing, and business ownership. I've also worked in mental health services and supported AM Investments LLC and its family of businesses in West Virginia. Together, those experiences gave me a practical understanding of how the different parts of a business depend on one another.
The Purpose Behind Business Built Within
I created Business Built Within LLC because I understand business from the employee's perspective, the leadership team's perspective, and the owner's perspective. Owners don't always need another employee or another complicated process. Sometimes, they need the right business partner—someone who understands the moving parts and can provide dependable support where it's needed most.
